How It Works
From idea to insight in five simple steps.
1
Create a workspace
Every scan starts with a workspace. Give it a name and describe the domain you want to explore — for example, "Future of Urban Mobility" or "Biotech in Agriculture". The AI uses this description to tune its suggestions to your context.
- Keep the description to 1-3 sentences.
- Be specific: regions, industries, or time-frames help.
2
Add keywords
Populate your workspace with keywords that define your topic. Mark the most central ones as core — these carry extra weight when the AI suggests adjacent concepts. Add exploratory keywords for angles you already suspect.
- Start with 5-10 keywords; you can always add more later.
- Use 1-3 word phrases rather than long sentences.
- Mix technologies, regions, and policy terms for breadth.
3
Get AI suggestions
Hit Suggest and the AI returns 10 non-obvious keywords or concepts worth investigating. The mix includes adjacent ideas, weak signals, driving forces, and wildcards — each with a short rationale so you know why it matters.
- Upvote suggestions you like — this teaches the AI your style.
- Add promising suggestions straight into your keyword list.
- Run suggestions multiple times as your workspace grows.
4
Synthesize trends
When you are ready, hit Synthesize. The AI clusters your keywords into 3-5 coherent trends, each with a summary, STEEP category, horizon estimate, impact and uncertainty scores, weak signals, contrarian views, and investigative questions.
- Synthesis costs credits — check your balance before running.
- Grounding pulls recent web evidence to strengthen signals.
- Upvote or downvote trends to improve future syntheses.
5
Export & share
Export your synthesis as Markdown or CSV to drop straight into reports, presentations, or shared documents. Your workspaces and results are always saved, so you can revisit or refine them anytime.
- Markdown is great for Notion, Google Docs, or GitHub.
- CSV works well for spreadsheets and data pipelines.
